My Latest Hiatus

I have a long history of stopping projects. (Say what you will about Jimmy, but he’s still going strong. Whether we like it or not.)

In this case, I got nearly halfway through (16 albums, 13 letters, one concert) before the Buffett grind got the best of me. And thus, about a year-and-a-half ago, The Brothers Buffett became my latest hiatus — which is a frickin’ perfect song title if and when I ever resume.

Anyway, if you stumble across this: sorry. For either stopping or, more likely, starting.

As a die-hard parrothead, it’s hard to deny that some of your criticism is hilarious and spot-on.

I stumbled across THE BROTHERS BUFFETT while doing a Google search of HIGH CUMBERLAND JUBILEE. Your posts are definitely worth reading and is pretty close to gold (from an agree-to-disagree perspective, of course). Your attempt to actually study Jimmy’s music is very respectable. I’m glad to see you’ve come around to liking such songs as “Trying to Reason With Hurricane Season” and “The Captain and the Kid”. There’s no doubt, JB’s material is gonna grow on you sooner or later (Is that really why you quite? Are you afraid you’re gonna turn into a parrothead?). 🙂

Thank you for the fun read. I hope you decide to pick up where you left off. Your next album is HOT WATER. That post will be a riot; even the parrotheads don’t like this one (though “Prince of Tides” and “That’s What Living is to Me” are hidden gems; and “Homemade Music” and “Smart Woman (In a Real Short Skirt)” are fun for maybe one of two listens).

FYI, I gave you props at BuffettWorld. Come visit if you have time. All are welcome.
